The next 15 days after birth are especially important. Because babies are at high risk for jaundice during this time, your doctor may want to see your baby.
During the next 3 months after birth, different parts and functions of the body, such as the hips, eyes, and hearing, are examined. In addition, a postnatal checkup is performed to determine if the baby is eating well, if the baby is gaining weight properly, and how the baby's vision, hearing, and coordination are developing.
The well-baby visit is also a good time to ask your doctor any questions you may have about your baby's health.
